UNTUK jurusan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan (TKJ), merakit laptop udah menjadi kegiatan rutin. Gimana tidak, ini adalah salah satu mata pelajaran alias mapel di SMKN 5 Makassar (Skanel). Dulunya, mapel ini disebut Perakitan PC dan Veriveral. Tetapi sekarang gak lagi. Saat ini, perakitan saja namanya.
Skanel adalah satu-satunya sekolah kejuruan di Sulsel yang mendapatkan MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) dari Direktorat Pembinaan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (PSMK) sebagai Sekolah Perakit atau Pusat Perakitan Peralatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komputer (Komputer Merk SMK-Zyrex). Tepatnya 3 April 2009 lalu.
Menilik soal mapel ini, dulunya menggunakan sistem simulasi. Jadi nih, laptop yang udah dirakit dibongkar kembali. Yaps, itu untuk menjadi bahan praktik. Begitu seterusnya hingga komponen yang dirakit itu rusak. Biasanya, bertahan lima sampai tujuh kali bongkar pasang.
Tetapi nih, pihak sekolah pun gak mau seperti itu aja. Mengubah mindset tentang ini pun jadi senjata. Dari simulasi menjadi nyata. Ini berarti hasil rakitan gak dibongkar lagi. Namun setelah jadi bisa menghasilkan doku. "Kita coba tanamkan ke siswa. Setiap mengerjakan sesuatu, bisa menghasilkan produk yang komersil," aku Yohannes Mainda, Ketua Tim Perakit.
Iya, Guys. Mereka mulai merakit komponen-komponen mentah menjadi sebuah laptop. Dan itu gak dibongkar kembali. Makanya nih, Skanel pun gak jarang dapat orderan untuk merakit laptop. Udah banyak hasil rakitan yang sukses dibikin ama anak-anak Skanel. Susah hitungnya, Guys! Saking banyaknya, hehehe.
Any way, produknya juga gak asal kok. Mereka tetap memprioritaskan mutu produk rakitan. Ini sih ditunjang kerja sama dengan perusahaan ternama di Jakarta, PT Zyrexindo Mandiri Buana, PT Relion, dan PT Advan.
"Kerja sama atas sepengetahuan dari Direktorat PSMK sendiri. Kita butuh kerja sama seperti ini untuk menambah semangat siswa juga agar terus berlatih. Apalagi banyak sekolah-sekolah dari berbagai daerah bahkan provinsi yang sering mengadakan pelatihan di Skanel. Dan ini free, karena kami memang juga ingin membagi ilmu," beber Harianto, koordinator siswa.
Bicara soal proses perakitan, sang perakit dituntut punya skill oke. Untuk keamanan, perakit kudu pakai gelang ESD alias Electro Statis Disk Carge. Tujuannya, sebagai penetral listrik yang ada dalam tubuh yang bisa merusak komponen laptop. Dan, meja pengalas pun dilengkapi dengan spons keras agar laptop gak tergores saat merakit. Juga ada kabel grounding untuk membuang listrik statis seperti gelang ESD.
Rencananya, Skanel bakal merakit 1.306 unit netbook lagi. Dan bakal dibagikan ke SMK se-Sulselbar. Dari sini nih, Skanel bakal menerima hadiah 30 unit netbook yang siap dirakit dan untuk digunakan ama Skanel sendiri. Sebagai hasil dedikasi atas keinginan merakit laptop untuk sekolah yang nantinya menerima netbook itu.
Pada Maret 2010, pelatihan tentang perakitan pun pernah diselenggarakan di sekolah ini. Diikuti sekolah kejuruan taraf RSBI dari empat provinsi. Yakni Sulsel, Sultra, Sulbar dan Sulteng. Pihak Direktorat PSMK sendiri yang bakal menunjuk sekolah yang mana. So, don't missed, Guys! (*)
